Summer Workshops for 2007

This years summer theme is nature and the outdoors, to encourage children to play and be creative outside.

Nature workshop

A nature art workshop for preschoolers this summer. Suitable for children 3-5 years old. Plant seeds, paper plant pots and flower masks.

Garden Friends

Help our garden friends out this year by creating homes and feeders from an exciting range of recycled materials.

Garden Print: Summer Flowers

Aimed at children aged 6 and over. Artist Julie Roberts will again lead the 'playing through print'. This great workshop will investigate a variety of different basic printmaking techniques through which the children will learn about shape, colour and texture. Wildlife and flowers will be used as inspiration. Prints can be made into banners, T-shirts or bags.

How Does Your Garden Grow?

This inspiring sculpture workshop will use the gardens as inspiration. Using your imagination you will create fantastic flowers, exciting plants, super sheds and flowing ponds. The workshop uses a mixture of materials to develop a decorative garden sculpture.

Make a Wormery

Use a old glass jar, some sand and soil to make a home for worms. Take them home feed them some vegetable scraps and watch them make compost.

Garden Pot Mosaics

Using your own designs and inspirations from the gardens you will learn the skills needed to create decorative planters.

Fantastic flowers and vegetables
